Eric was asked to build a cabin with a very firm deadline and work with a client he never met and who lived 1000+ miles away. He and his team delivered perfectly, never causing any concern it would not be done in time. He was proactive at sending pictures and videos of the progress and dealing with issues that needed attention without a client near by. His team was polite and always kept the work site clean and organized. He went above and beyond to help deliver a great finished project and his bear jerky is out of this world!

We have had the pleasure of collaborating with Eric Larson on several construction projects at our Gull Lake location. These have included a large outdoor deck, a complicated stairway down a steep bank, and the remodeling of three bathrooms. Of course building this dream 200 miles from home creates obvious issues. Eric was able to close that distance with daily photo updates, timely e-mails and personal phone calls that kept us in touch with the progress and limited/eliminated surprises. We highly recommend EL Builders for any kind of construction project. They worked with us on a complete house remodel that included plans for the construction project, tearing the existing structure down to the subfloor and building a new structure with an addition. This took place while my family of five lived in another building on the property. While this living situation was extremely stressful and challenging, EL Builders made the building process relatively stress free. They worked in a very professional manor and made sure the building site was cleaned up when they left for the day. When we were not on site for a couple weeks, they communicated progress daily and even sent pictures so we could see the progress. I couldn’t have been happier with how our house construction went and Eric’s quality of workmanship. EL Builders takes pride in producing a quality product on time and within budget.

EL Builders built our lake place over the winter of 2012-13. We hired Eric Larson to be our General Contractor of this project. He did an exceptional job by keeping us informed of construction progress. Eric’s recommendations of sub-contractors for cabinetry, plumbing, heating, electrical fireplace, etc. were all top-notch. Since we live over 200 miles away he would frequently call us and even send pictures of construction progress!! Eric was always very prompt and patient when answering all questions we had. We started from scratch and built a new second home with EL Builders. Because of all the stories you hear,we were a little nervous about the process. We had never worked with a builder and new nothing about it,especially in an area we didn't live and were not familiar with his reputation. A neighbor we respect suggested we contact EL Builders for a bid as he knew him to be ambitious/hardworking and had worked with him on other projects and liked his work. We did just that....and from the start felt comfortable and knew that he was knowledgeable about what he was doing. His bid was accurate,he was considerate enough to know that we would be wondering about progress(because we live out of town) and emailed photos of the progress which we loved.We cant say enough about his perfectionism, he always left the site clean and his craftsmanship was outstanding. We enjoyed working with Eric and Jeff so much that they built our deck the following year. In 2012 we contracted Eric Larson/EL Builders to build our home. We did the basic design and layout of the home so Eric was involved from the very beginning all the way through to completion. His involvement early on, with his experience and input, proved invaluable. His communication and follow through during the building process and the follow-up after move-in, was quite simply outstanding.
With building a home it seems as though there are a million decisions that the owner needs to make, and at times can almost seem overwhelming. Eric lead us through this whole decision making process and kept us “ahead of the game” so we always knew what decisions/choices we needed to be working on to keep things moving along smoothly. This not only gave us the time we needed for making the right decisions, but it also kept the entire project on schedule.
